OK, so two quickies:

1) From the AP wire:

"Mexican singer Thalia arrives with husband Tommy Mottola at the Latin Grammy Awards in Miami September 3, 2003."

Tommy Mottola used to be married to Mariah Carey. Now married to Thalia. There's a word we used growing up to describe this situation. And that word is "upgrade". (I seriously need to like, start a record label. Immediately.)

2) You know, I'm as happy as anyone that Juanes won all those Latin Grammys, but man, Catullus got SCREWED. Brother dropped some mad bombs, yo. Look at him beat Madonna/Britney/Christina to the girl-on-girl punch by a few millennia. "Vivamus, mea Lesbia, atque amemus..." "(You’re one vivacious babe, my lesbian, and we love ya)..." Yet nary a win for him.

Pliny the Elder has some serious beef with the Academy as well; he wasn't even nominated.
