Friday Ramblings

So there I was, 7:58 pm last night, and I’m grinning like a madman.

My roommate, who hadn’t seen me in 3 days, wondered why I was all Chesire Cat-like.

“Dude, you don’t understand. I’m not at work. I just went food shopping. There’s a case of Sam Adams Octoberfest in the fridge. The Red Sox are already up 134-0. And Eddie Guerrero is wrestling two matches tonight on ‘Smackdown’. Life is dangerously close to perfect.”

At which point he slowly backed away, maintaining eye contact, until he bolted for his room, then bolted the door.

You take what little happiness you can find. And you express them in the form of paragraphs that have nothing to do with each other.

Speaking of “Smackdown”, at some point I am making a bee-line to the theatres this weekend to see “The Rundown”, cuz hey, mad props to the Rock. And shockingly, it’s getting good reviews. So who knows. The plan is to buy a ticket to see “Second Hand Lions” to catch the “Return of the King” preview, and then see The Rock whup some candy ass. The WWE gets a piece of the box office for lending the name “The Rock” to the movie. Yes, the WWE owns that name. If the WWE didn’t get a cut, you’d have an action movie starring “Dwayne Johnson”, and really, no one wants that.

(Between “ROTK” and “Matrix Revolutions” trailers out, I’m a bit irrational. Thank God it doesn’t take much to entertain me, given the past few weeks.)

I also rewarded myself yesterday and bought Seasons 1 and 2 of “Angel” on DVD. Around next week I’ll figure out what I did to earn such a reward. Holding off on “Alias Season 1” until one of you buys it for me. (And Myra, no, do NOT bring up your conditions again!)

If anyone has more questions for the “He Loves Me…” FAQ, send them in, I hope to have Part 2 up next week.

Heading back to NYC next week for 5 days, so I’ll be installing a “CommanderCam” without his knowledge. (Hey, someone a few years ago did "Ryan and Tim Rear End Cam", it seems.) I’ll be giving out a URL to the highest bigger. There might be a return to Culture Club (sans neck-biting, I hope). Even though the UNICEF Clan doesn’t comment anymore, I suppose I could see them while in town. On top of that, I’ll be filming my cameo in the next Spike Lee joint, entitled, “Lord of the Blings”.

The other day, on my Launchcast station, they played Bryan Adams’ “Heaven” and Journey’s “Faithfully” back to back. I almost wept with joy. That was one great back-to-back power ballad combo.

Still haven’t stopped playing “Elephant” nonstop yet. I’m in deep smit with “Hardest Button to Button” and “Girl You Have no Faith in Medicine", the latter of which has my favorite riff of the last year. My God. Totally have added it to the list of songs the cover band that I’ll never actually form will play. Other songs include: “Thunder Road”, “Comfortably Numb”, Rob Zombie’s “Never Gonna Stop”, “Your Love” by The Outfield, “Origin of Love” from “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”, “Hypnotize” by Notorious B.I.G., “Downtown” from “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Life, in a Nutshell” by BNL, “Fake Plastic Trees” by Radiohead, and “Get Your Freak On” by Missy.

What songs would your cover band perform?
