and we wonder why hollywood doesn't create more "art"
Now, I like the show well enough (more for the theatre of the absurb than the "roll around in vomit" stuff), but the fact that "Jackass: The Movie" just got the 3rd largest October opening ever is more than a tad bit disturbing.
Over $22 million. As Commander Foley would say, Jumpin' Jesus on a Pogo Stick.
This is up there with the shock I had about 3 weeks ago when I realized that "America's Funniest Home Videos" was still on the air. $50K for capturing Grandma wiping out in her wheelchair. Lovely.
I need to start ramming things into my crotch, maybe then I'll start making some of the big bucks.

The comment on 'PLJ yesterday morning was that "Jackass" made so much money while "Punch Drunk Love" did not. It was then revealed that "Punch Drunk Love" was on, what, 1/8 of the screens that "Jackass" was? Everyone felt better about America when that was revealed.
