Blogging in the Shadow of the Valley of a Dark Thing, Which May Be Black, Fat, a Cat, Or a Combination of Any and All Of These Elements
So Diane, in an email today, mentioned a certain activity that, “…I need to do before I die.” Made me think. Gave me pause. Facing mortality. A grave thought. Makes one prone to writing in sentence fragments.
So, I decided to make a list for myself. You know, figure out some priorities. I’m not old, but life moves pretty fast. And so do girls if you approach them after you sneeze in Central Park, but that’s a whole ‘nother issue.
So, I thought I’d share with you a few of the 346 items I jotted down between my desk and the soda machine. Feel free to share some of your own!
Visit Dublin, Ireland.
Own a piece of property.
Run with scissors in my parents’ house.
Figure out how to upload the UNICEF drunk call as an MP3 file for the Internet’s enjoyment.
Date someone named “Shakira”.
Finally create my T’Pau fan site.
Meet Strong Bad for a Cold One.
Be nice to a kitten.
Rule with an iron fist.
Invent bread.
Put my thang down, flip it, and reverse it.

Last one on the list sounds like a one way ticket to the chiropractor.

You seriously have a problem remembering women's names, don't you? It's Diana. With an 'a'.
It's okay. I forgive you. Can't speak for the multitudes of future women this happens to though. :)

No, I just have typos galore when i try to throw a post out in 5 minutes. Excuse me while I go light myself on fire.

You know, I'd believe that if it weren't for the consistency your typos seem to have... Selma Hayek... Kiera Knightley... Jennifer Gardner... Erik Astrada...
Ryan McGee, ladies and gents, for whom misspelling is a sign of affection.

Here's what I've got:
- Go to Hawaii
- Win a major acting award
- Learn to drive stick shift by the time the 1969 MG in my father's garage is completely fixed
- Abolish Tuesdays (four day work week!)
- Meet Lauren Bacall
- Speak a foreign language fluently. As much as I'd like to believe it is, British slang is not a foreign language.
- Find a nightclub in New York with music that I like
- Buy the ultimate party house and invite people over constantly (bearing in mind that 75% of my parties involve costumes)
....and something about a corkscrew.

Meet a gorgeous, smart and witty man who is totally into me (and vice versa) who isn't gay.
Own a 2-story house with a porch.
Live somewhere other than my hometown.
Learn to drive a straight drive, and remember how to do it.
Travel Europe.
Have children.

Funny you should mention this right now. My husband died 2 weeks ago. He was 42. I've been thinking a lot the last few days about his very long list of things to do, and how tragic it is that he never got 90% done.
Don't mean to be a buzzkill, but I wanted to say to all of you... DO YOUR LIST! You can't ever tell what life's gonna throw your way.

My condolences Tammy. I won't begin to say I understand what your going through, but I will tell you that you and your hubby are in my thoughts. And you're right, in the immortal words of Ferris, "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it."
