In Between Days
I’m sorry if the eight of you who come here for things other than reviews of “Lost” and “Drive” have felt a bit adrift lately. If it’s any consolation, I’ve felt bad about the impending shift into a one-man “Television Without Pity”, but rest assured, that change will come very, very slowly, and I won’t be abandoning you anytime soon. I may be abandoning sleep, happiness, and any form of a social life, but I won’t be abandoning you.
On the topic of a social life, however, I did manage to have one tonight with my friend Nick. We consumed many a beer, had many a fried food, and watched many a Red Sox player pop up to right field. Seriously. It was like a bet the players had with each other: “How many times can we pop up to Alex Rios?” Might have been fun for them, but hardly fun for us. Oh well, we made our own fun. Drinks, food, inappropriate games of “Twister” atop the bar…the usual stuff for us.
But I did find out one cool fact as we hung out: that he managed to land two tickets to the upcoming Wolfmother show in Boston in less than two weeks time. I mean, c’mon, the name of the band is “Wolfmother”. That should already qualify them as an excellent band in your mind. It’s not like their name is “Possumaunt”. That would be a horrible band, trust me. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve heard by them so far, and can’t wait to see them in a few week’s time. I’ll see them the day after the NFL Draft, which has turned into an annual “McGee Men Get Together and Drink” day, and immediately following watching The Girl receive an award from her grad school. Perfect end to a great weekend, if you ask me.
To get you clued into what you’ll be missing, allow me to embed a few choice clips. Now, let me stand back and pity you.

Why does the band in Guitar Hero look like GWAR? Seems like a strange choice. I want to look like Joe Perry when I am pretending to play guitar.
