Cat Killer

A few things I’m curious about these days:

Just curious, Medford, MA: what’s up with this whole citywide parking ban tomorrow, eh? Seems kinda, I dunno, inconvenient for me. Cuz it’s like, here’s the deal: I don’t drive into work. I’m fairly certain there are a few people in my neighborhood in a similar predicament. I could see doing half the neighborhood one day, and the other half the following day. Makes sense to me. Much more than this totalitarian plan you implemented, oh, this morning. Implemented the way some people implement marketing plans for garage sales: a lone dude, a staple gun, and a whole host of fliers. You stay classy, Medford.

Just curious, fantasy baseball: you ever going to let me finish in a position other than “dead freakin’ last” this year? I’m already off to a stellar 4-763-5 record this year, and it’s only two weeks into the season of head-to-head competition with 7 other guys. I only counted 20 possible points one could earn per week, and here I am, 743 over that mark. I guess I should pat myself on the back, because that has to be a new fantasy baseball record. Also, if any of the 2007 Red Sox read this blog, I beg you: get Daisuke some run support before I start chugging Bartles & Jaymes wine coolers until I black out.

Just curious, readers: what are your favorite romantic slow songs? Cuz I gotta tell ya, I’m coming up short as I create this whole wedding music mix. I have plenty of jams. Plenty. There ain’t enough PB in the world for my J, lemmee tell ya. But I’m coming up a bit short on good ol’ fashioned love ballads. Slow songs I have plenty of, but they are are all of the “holy crap, that bitch done did a number on my psyche, perchance a permanent one, lemme strum for a few more minutes in E minor to further assess the situation” variety. Whole lotta pain on my iTunes, is what I’m saying. I know I’m missing a ton of good ones here, so fire away down below. Just know: any Celine Dion recommendations earns you a permanent ban from the blog.

What about:

"I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)" - Stevie Wonder

From the High Fidelity soundtrack.

My inappropriate suggestion: "Sound of Settling", Death Cab for Cutie.

Somehow I feel the inappropriate suggestions will be funnier. So bring 'em on.

"Say Goodbye", Dave Matthews
The God-awful Hinder song "I wonder why ya callin' meee..../Soooo late"
"It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" Bob Dylan
"Lost Cause", Beck

Oh, this is fun!

What about:

Dixie Chicks, "Give It Up or Let Me Go", lyrics including:

Well, you come home drunk and nasty
You won't tell me where you've been
Just when things are nice and sweet
You're going back out again

you need "smoke gets in your eyes" for real and definitely "she hates me" by that band that I can't remember at all.
